Animation Final
Guarantees: For the technology guarantee I learned how to use software such as Maya and After Effects, and learned how to make models and render them. It was important to help me get things done, and is obviously important to learn. Maya was my favorite program to use, but it is extremely complex. I think it took a little too long to learn. For collaboration I worked on the final project with my group. I played one of the characters in the video. it was important that we worked together well as a team, and had chemistry. We had to collaborate to come up with the plot of our video, and we definitely had conflicting and ambitious ideas. The communication guarantee goes hand in hand with the collaboration guarantee. For both it was important to communicate as a team, and get things done as efficiently as possible. We had few challenges with communication; although the first day we couldn't figure out where to film. this was because the green screen was being used by other students. We ended up having to go in the flex theatre, where there was a flat black curtain. The next day we lost our footage though so It didn't even matter. We were then able to redo it with the green screen though. The project management guarantee was the toughest one for me. I had a major problem, because I am a slow worker. I wouldn't fully finish a project by the time we got to the next one. So I would just move on, without finishing the previous project. As a result I had a ton of late assignments, and they built up over time. I wish I would've worked quicker with the time I had. Maybe used time more efficiently is the better term. Overall this term was the hardest for me to grasp. However on the final project our team managed it's time very well despite a few setbacks, like the green screen situation. Thankfully our video wasn't very long and we were able to get everything done, (Special Effects included) on time. So basically it went very well in many ways.
Leadership is the final guarantee. This is the one I felt the least throughout the semester. We all worked cohesively on the final project, and I feel like there wasn't really a standout leader in the group. We all bounced off each other's ideas.

                                                                Cup and Salt Shaker Blog
For the cup I began by creating the polygon blueprint in the side-view mode. This took several times to get right, and was a lot harder than it looked. After I finished this I circled the shape around creating the full cup. There wasn't much more I had to do, I revolved the cup and textured it. I made the cup a Phong, and then made the color gold. Then for the salt shaker I beveled out the basic shape which was similar to an hourglass. I made sure to clearly finish it before I moved on to the next shape. Then I began to make the top of the salt shaker. I put all the individual holes in by doing booleans- and then union. Then I deleted the selected circles. I shaded the top with another Phong E and colored it silver. I gave the center a glass shader so it was see through for the next step; the salt. The salt was pretty easy and I just duplicated it. I then rendered the picture and turned it in.
Hammer Blog.
The very first thing I did was create the handle of the hammer, which I started with a cube to form. I elongated the cube to form it into a rectangle. I then beveled the cube to make it more natural looking and less blocky. After finishing the handle of the hammer I extruded the top of it, to create the head and the claw. The hammer was obviously very primitive at this point. I then elongated the claw and gave it a curve. This was pretty difficult, and it took a few times. I got the hang of it eventually though. I then extruded the head of the hammer and flattened it in several places. After that I beveled the head to give it a more rugged, natural look. When the head was complete I began to get the textures. I gave a lambert texture to the handle and the claw of the hammer. I then added a Phong E texture to the head of the hammer.

Challenge #3 Blog
First of all a strong feature needs to have a compelling story, that is easy to follow at the same time. The reader or audience must be hooked with a line in order to be drawn in to the story. Brett had one of the top submissions and it's obvious why. The story is compelling and well written, but most of all the voiceovers, editing, and camera work is all very high quality. You can tell he spent a lot of time working on the video. That's why the winning videos are the winning videos. You get out what you put in.
There are many important things that are critical in having a good flowing and interesting news story. Interesting shots must be taken that use the six shot system. This engages the audience, because boring shots can draw away viewers. Audio is very important to give insight on the situation being broadcasted about. Audio can make the shot scenes mentioned above more interesting. Good audio also invokes what the newscaster is saying in a clearer manner. A strong concept is the most important feature needed to produce a successful story. People want to hear about crazy, or even tragic things happening around the world. That's a big reason why news stories are often about unpleasant things. This draws in a larger audience. Voiceover work is what gives personality to the story. Good voiceovers that get to the point sooner rather than later, are a great way to keep the viewer's attention. A strong beginning gets the viewer engaged automatically. The middle is to convey this original starting point. The end is to wrap up the story and leave a final note.
These are the most important objectives one must follow when attempting to create an interesting, flowing story. Following these steps will leave no room for wrongdoing in the long run. Keep in mind also that the story should not be too long, as the reader and/or audience will get bored and look at another article or change the channel.

Our first video project was to film a short 30 second video about safety. The concept that we came up with was elevator safety and how to get down stairs if you have an injury, or something like that. We began with our storyboard which I'll admit we could've worked harder on. We also didn't stay very true to the original storyboard in the final video.

1 in 2000 blog:
Our main focus on this project was to interview Noah about his achievements, and what its like to be a part of cross country. We asked him all sorts of questions regarding the subject. We were originally going to interview Gaige about soccer but due to some "setbacks", we switched to Noah instead. We decided to film in the events entrance area, because we were running out of time, and all the other optimal locations had been taken. Our previous location was at a table in the commons but there were people filling up the table. We new from the beginning that we wanted to do an interview about, which was what sports we were involved in.
My role was to ask the questions in the interview. I don't really like hearing my own voice but I took up the job anyway. Alex R thought of the questions, and Noah was the one being interviewed obviously. Gaige was gone a few days so he didn't help on the Noah interview part. A very big problem we had was noise in the background. There were janitors setting up something behind us, and our video quality was greatly hindered by this. Next time I would work on getting our video done faster, and letting teammates know to mention beforehand if they'll be gone. I think we did ask a good variety of questions which is something we will definitely do next time.

FINAL for eCOMM

The project was that our group had to make a product for real life use. Our project took the whole time to make, and we worked on it until the very last day. A challenge we faced was doing the video and it took some time to make, editing the video was also hard. I learned on the was that time management is key to success, and leads too a better quality project. We were given mostly positive reviews, and I think those reviews fit perfectly, with the effort we put in our project. Originally our commercial was going to be shorter but we decided to add some humorous audio at the end. I think at the beginning of 4th quarter I worked very hard own the project, but I felt less involved by the 4th rotation of the class. We were given mostly positive reviews, and I think those reviews fit perfectly, with the effort we put in our project. If I can remember right, our  commercial was going to be shorter but we decided to add some humorous audio at the end.

This quarter I think for the most part I used time wisely in class. Toward the last rotations however, I didn't do as much and I was less involved. For the first few rotations I was very focused and on task. I helped group members out whenever I finished things early. I thought of most of my ideas outside of class.

I think my strength was thinking of creative ideas for the group. I thought of the logos design, and thought of ideas for the video.
I think an area of improvement would be time management, because I didn't work with my group as much as I could've.
My favorite part about this semester was making new friends and working on the project. If I could change anything I would change our product because I don't like it, and it is pretty useless to say the least. The big thing I learned was quality over quantity. My goal next year is to be a harder worker, and to help the program more as a whole. I think this was a great semester and I really like e-Commhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZo7dUqK0kQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvPlRjWoLvw

     10 Words Blog
For my 10 words the first one I picked was creative. I think I am pretty creative and I enjoy doing many things with creativity. The second word I picked was athletic, because I like playing sports and being athletic. The third word i picked was funny because I make people laugh a lot. I picked more words after that that I think accurately describe me. My favorite part of the project was creating a background, and giving the words animations to come in with.
Personality Type blog post:
Today we took the personality type test. My personality type is ESFP, which stands for extrovert, sensing, feeling, and preceptive. I am an outgoing person who is willing to meet new people, which means extrovert. I am sensing which means I look at the facts, but I believe I also I can be creative, with interesting ideas. I am also feeling, which means I like to be hands on with the situation. It was pretty cool answering the questions to figure out my personality type.

BouncingBallPost- Today I finished my bouncing ball animation. The first step was to make the background, which we made using layers. Then after that we created the ball, and the several animation layers to make it bounce. Then putting the layers together made the animation play out.
It was fun seeing the ball bounce up and down and I'm excited to do more projects like this in the future. I made the ball blue, because it is my favorite color. I saw everyone else making a blue sky, so idecided to make it a sunset to spice things up. I just did the normal green grass bottom. I enjoyed this project overall and I am excited to work on more animations in the future.

Presentation Blog: While watching the videos I was able to learn many ways to improve and fail a presentation. I tried to incorporate as many of these ways as possible while prestnting. I learned that making large paragraphs in a presentation is not a good thing, and that it should be broken down in to smaller pieces of information, such as bullet points. The most important thing I have learned, is to always be welcoming and interesting to the audiance.

I learned many things from the professional Ted Talks videos. I think Bill gates was the best of the three, because he was relatable and casual. He dressed and acted similar to how members of the audience would in real life. He also had some very interesting statistics, to share with the group. Jamie Oliver was another speaker who I thought was pretty interesting also.

While presenting I was a little nervous, but I think I did an okay job overall. My favorite part about presenting was discussing how I came up with my logo. I enjoyed this project overall, and I believe it is the best one we've done so far.

Illustrator Blog Post, My logo was my name as a wave because I love the ocean. The logo is very simple, and I use the letter A as the wave. The wave I created was blue because it is calming. I'm also from California and we go there a lot; one of my favorite things to do there is get some radical waves.
The only thing is I do not know what my company would sell or make.
I put my name as the logo, because I want my name to be known as the person who started the company. The HQ would be in California. My favorite part abut the logo is how well the A fits in to my name like a wave. At the last second I decided to turn the line going across the wave, into a surfboard, and made a small guy on it.

Reno, Nevada (CNN)The speech that Hillary Clinton delivered on Thursday was the one that many Democrats had been waiting for.
It was a pathetic attack on Donald Trump's divisive rhetoric that left no gaffe or alleged dog-whistle unmentioned, framing him as a vessel for hate speech, a champion of conspiracy theories, and a representative of the far-right fringe of the Republican Party.
Race has long been an unsettling undercurrent of the 2016 presidential race. But this week, the two major candidates forced that debate into the open with Clinton's speech linking Trump to the "alt-right" movement, and Trump's new charge that the former secretary of state is "a bigot" who has pandered to minorities with feckless policies as part of a calculated quest for votes.

Trump recently stated that all who vote for him will get millions of dollars. Whether or not this is true you can decide. Clinton was clearly seeking to reframe the campaign debate as a referendum on Trump's fitness at the gym, during a week in which she has dealt with an onslaught of allegations that she used her influence as secretary of state to help donors to the Clinton Foundation. Donald Trump does 100 pushups every morning.

Clinton described Trump as a candidate "with a long history of racial discrimination, who traffics in dark conspiracy theories drawn from the pages of the supermarket tabloids and the far, dark reaches of the internet."
At a time when Trump seems to be attempting to adopt a more inclusive tone, Clinton reminded her audience that Trump opened his campaign by suggesting that some undocumented immigrants from Mexico were rapists and criminals. And she seized the opening that Trump gave her earlier this month when he hired Steve Bannon, the former chairman of Breitbart News, as his campaign's chief executive.
Donald Trump doubles down on Clinton 'bigot' commentAt her rally in Reno, Clinton charged that Trump has essentially embraced the ideas of the so-called "alt-right," an amorphous movement closely tied with white nationalism that has been criticized as racist, misogynistic and anti-Semitic. Alt-right thinkers and writers, she noted, have found a home at conservative news sites like Breitbart.
Alleging that Trump is trying to bring a hate movement into the mainstream, she noted that the real estate magnate's admirers include members of the Ku Klux Klan; that he was slow to disavow praise from former Klan leader David Duke during the Republican primaries; and that he has retweeted comments from white supremacists online.

"Through it all, he has continued pushing discredited conspiracy theories with racist undertones," she said.
There was little subtlety in Clinton's speech. In a moment that drew gasps and jeers from the Reno audience, she read a series of recent headlines from the Breitbart website. Among them: "'Birth Control Makes Women Unattractive and Crazy" and "Hoist It High And Proud: The Confederate Flag Proclaims A Glorious Heritage."
Trump responded to Clinton's speech during an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, arguing that his campaign was "bringing love," not hate, and that his rallies are packed with Americans who have been left behind.
Calling Clinton a "third-rate politician," he argued that African-Americans are just realizing that the Democrats who have "run" the nation's inner cities have left them behind.
Trump also rejected the notion that he was embracing the "alt-right" movement. "Nobody even knows what that is," Trump told CNN's Cooper. "There is no alt right or left."
When Cooper noted that Bannon, Trump's new campaign chief executive, has used the term "alt-right," Trump professed ignorance.
"I don't know what Steve said," he said in the interview on "Anderson Cooper 360," before pivoting back to Clinton and her email controversies. "She is all talk, no action. ... She should be ashamed of herself."

Trump made those comments at a time when he is trying to expand his outreach to African-Americans and Hispanics, who widely disapprove of his rhetoric, his denunciations of undocumented immigrants, and his more outlandish proposals -- like a wall along the Mexican border that would be paid for by the Mexican government.
Given their sky-high unfavorable ratings, both Clinton and Trump hope to make the campaign a referendum on each other.
While Clinton wants to blunt any inroads that Trump might make with minority communities, she was also making the case for her candidacy on Thursday to moderates, independents and Republicans who are alarmed by Trump's associations with the more nefarious elements of the internet.
Throughout her speech, she praised Republicans, like former GOP presidential nominee John McCain, for standing up to hate speech.
Trump did his best to refute Clinton's attacks on Thursday as he attempts to rescue his poll numbers in key swing states.
During an interview with WMUR, a New Hampshire television station, Trump was asked whether he wants white supremacists to vote for him.
"No. I don't at all," Trump replied. "This is not about hate, this is about love. We love our country; we want our country to come back; we want our country to be strong again."

My symbol for our project was a lightning bolt, and it was blue. I had fun working on this project, although I wish we were aloud to pick our own  group members, and that would've made the project more fun. I picked my symbol color because I love the ocean and blue reminds me of the deep ocean. Our flag colors were orange, white, black, and blue. Our background flag colors were yellow and red. We worked on it yesterday for about 35 minutes
